Stable Strata Consulting is a small, specialized rock engineering consultancy operating out of Johannesburg, South Africa. We make use of a large international network to bring experts with the required knowledge and experience to any project. The company philosophy is that no single consultancy, however large, can ever have all the expertise in house to solve all problems at a high expert level. Good enough is not good enough. The right expert has to handle the right problem to ensure that only the best that the world can offer is good enough. We have collaborators in South Africa, France, Germany, Poland, the USA, the Czech Republic, China, Korea, Japan, Norway, Brazil, the UK, Australia, Slovenia, Canada, Portugal, Russia, etc. We know the right people. Included in our list are consultants, researchers, mine managers and academics working in private practice, private research institutions, government organizations and mining companies. We also make use of highly experienced, well qualified technicians. Although we are equipped to handle any rock engineering problem, our focus is on underground coal mining matters. We can handle the full range of issues, from roof support to mine lay-out to pillar extraction, longwalling, long-term stability issues, mine closure, subdsidence prediction, undermining problems, etc. Please feel free to look around, and use the pictures if you want.
